Julie: Not sure this will help, but I had a similar problem with my dual G5. I fixed it by updating my internet cleanup utility and anti virus/anti-logger software, running the Mac Utility to reset permissions, then running a Genius Pro utility from the CD to check the hardware and software, rebuild the directories, defrag the files, and optimize the HD.
