Can't access Amazon

Message:
Late last week my almost-6-year-old single processor G5 became incapable of accessing my Amazon "my account" page. An up-to-date version of Safari couldn't do it, an ancient version of Internet Explorer couldn't do it, and an up-to-date version Firefox couldn't do it. Furthermore, I get this response from Firefox:
This Connection is Untrusted
You have asked Firefox to connect securely to www.amazon.com, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.
Normally, when you try to connect securely, sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified.
But my wife's ancient Dell with an up-to-date version of IE can do it fine. Amazon says it ain't there fault so I'm stuck. Any answers out there?
