iphone won't sync

Hello.
Chris Price tweaked my new iphone 8 months ago to load a third party application. (i think he unlocked the phone).
i've upgraded the iphone software and the itunes software and now the phone won't sync up; computer doesn't recognize it. oye.
any suggestions would be most appreciated.
